Business Development Manager

About Our Company

ImagineSolar is the leading provider of PV solar and smart grid training courses in the southwest U.S. and is expanding nationally into new markets with courses focused on the renewable energy sector.

Job Summary

This is an opportunity to be part of the initial team that is leading growth in an exciting and dynamic industry!  This position will oversee the development and implementation of market expansion activities for ImagineSolar’s B2B targets.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assists in the planning, establishment, and direction of the company’s sales and marketing strategy, as well as overall policies and goals for business development efforts
  • Assesses market potential and develops plans for key strategic relationships or customers
  • Identifies, develops and directly manages relationships for key customers across regions
  • Researches geographic markets and companies to identify prospects matching sales plans
  • Uses knowledge of our offerings and customer needs to develop solutions to issues of strategic importance. Writes proposals that focus on customer’s needs and prepares quotes.
  • Maintains a relationship with the customer to increase the sales of the organization’s services
  • Coordinates with the product development group and marketing group to manage development plan

Required Skills

  • Required 3 years of experience in the solar industry
  • Required bachelors degree in a related area, preferably engineering, and at least 5 years of experience in a technology-related field
  • Generally five years progressively responsible outside sales experience including experience selling to strategic or major accounts
  • Sales experience in a technology-related industry
  • Proven territory development skills
  • Demonstrated ability to sell at senior levels within corporate client accounts and decision-making level at small business or trade industry level
  • Must be able to generate and qualify quality customer leads
  • Must have exceptional written and oral communication skills with the ability to make personal presentations to key decision makers
  • Experience communicating technical info and ideas so others will understand
  • High level of proficiency in MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Content Developer

Job Summary

This is an opportunity to be part of the initial team that is leading growth in an exciting and dynamic industry!  We are ramping-up our course offerings nationwide and seeking a team member who can produce quality content related to solar and other renewable energy training.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop content for solar and renewable training courses using MS Office products
  • Design and develop competency-based program curriculum
  • Prepare syllabi and course outlines
  • Research and incorporate knowledge into training courses
  • Develop associated instruction manual and quizzes
  • Work with other developers on various course development
  • Occasionally instruct courses, including possible hands-on labs

Required Skills

  • Knowledge and experience in solar industry
  • High level of proficiency in MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Bachelors or Masters degree is preferred
  • Experience with curriculum design and course accreditation is strongly preferred
  • Experience with Moodle or other online platform is preferred
  • Knowledge and proven skills are required in customer service, public speaking and communication
  • Ability to work independently and be accountable for complete course delivery while working against a deadline is critical
