Monday, September 21st through Thursday September 24th 8am – 6pm, then Friday September 25th 8am to Noon, followed by the optional NABCEP Exam Friday afternoon 1pm – 3pm

Conclusion of workshop will coincide with the kickoff of the 10th Annual Renewable Energy Roundup & Green Living Fair which will run Friday, Saturday, and Sunday in Fredericksburg, and is sponsored by The Texas Solar Energy Society (TXSES), and the Texas Renewable Energy Industry Association (TREIA). This is an intensive 40-hour hands-on workshop on photovoltaic system design & installation. This workshop is available to all.

Attendees who complete our workshop will be eligible to take the NABCEP Entry Level Certificate of Knowledge exam. ImagineSolar will proctor the 2-hour exam at the end of the workshop. Class will conduct hands-on exercises as well as a grid-tied installation outside. Hats, sun block, and appropriate clothing for the weather are recommended.

Price includes the following: Textbook titled “Photovoltaic Systems” from American Technical Publishers, Copyright 2007 by National Joint Apprenticeship & Training Committee for the Electrical Industry (NJATC), workbook, CD-ROM of solar resource material, and lunches.
The CD-ROM features interactive resources for independent study and to enhance learning, including Quick Quizzes®, an Illustrated Glossary, Media Clips, several solar resources, and Reference Material. The Quick Quizzes® provide an interactive review of key topics covered in each chapter. The Illustrated Glossary is a helpful reference to textbook definitions, with select terms linked to illustrations and media clips that augment the definition provided.
The solar resources are electronic resources for evaluating potential installation sites and for sizing PV systems, and include the following:
- Solar Radiation Data Sets, which include the National Renewable Energy Laboratory’s complete solar radiation data for 239 sites around the United States in easily printable PDF format.
- Sun Path Charts, which are printable PDF charts of solar positions for selected latitudes. The related sun path chart spreadsheet can calculate additional charts as needed.
- Forms and Worksheets, including a sample site survey form and a set of sizing worksheets, all in PDF format. The sizing worksheets are also included in a spreadsheet file that automatically performs sizing calculations.
- Solar Time Calculator, which facilitates the conversion between standard time and solar time that is required for some solar analysis
