NABCEP Entry Level Exam

Cost: You may choose to take the NABCEP Entry Level Exam either at a testing center or, on occasion at ImagineSolar.  The prices for these two options are below.
Prometric Testing Center: $120
Administered by ImagineSolar: $170

Passing the NABCEP Entry Level Exam is a way for candidates to demonstrate that they have achieved a basic knowledge of the fundamental principles of the application, design, installation and operation of grid-tied and stand-alone PV systems in North America.

The knowledge demonstrated by passing this test does not replace the knowledge, skills or abilities of the electrical, plumbing, HVAC or other construction trades, or those of other professions or degree programs that require considerably more academic and/or practical experience.

This achievement demonstrates that the participant has passed an industry-designed, NABCEP-issued exam.

Eligibility Requirements:
Entry-level course completion is required, including one of the following: PV400, PV201, PV201e, or PV100 Series.  After purchasing the exam, please contact us to obtain a Candidate Eligibility Form which is required in order to take the exam

Test Location:

The NABCEP Entry Level Exam is administered at Prometric locations worldwide.  After your purchase and eligibility verification, ImagineSolar will submit your name to NABCEP, who will then contact you to schedule your exam at a Prometric location near you. To purchase the exam to be taken at a Prometric testing center, please choose the location “Prometric Testing Center” below.

On occasion, ImagineSolar administers the exam at our location in Austin.  If you prefer to take the exam at ImagineSolar, please purchase the exam below listed with the location “Austin JATC”.

Note: the exam fee for taking the exam onsite at ImagineSolar is higher than to take it at a Prometric testing center near you.
