Dell Headquarters 100KW Parking Lot Installation
The Dell 100KW parking lot installation was commissioned October 2009 at Dell headquarters in Round Rock, Texas.
ImagineSolar LLC was hired by McBride Electric to do the panel testing, installation, interconnection, and grounding for the array. The array consisted of 11 parking lot shade structures -a total of 516 BP 3195 (195 Watt) panels with a Satcon 110KW S-type inverter.
Electric vehicle charging ports were integrated into some of the structures and annual production of the array is expected to be about 130,000 kilowatt-hours, enough to power the equivalent of 10 central Texas homes.
I did two residential installs in California several years ago that were 1.5kW in size and all roof mounted. When we were awarded this project, I attended a 40 hour NABCEP training class in Austin through ImagineSolar. This week long class covered the basics of PV systems, installation, troubleshooting and sizing. This was a very informative class and a must for anyone looking to get into the solar industry. –Michael White, general contractor for McBride Electric
NABCEP Alternative Experience Pathway for Electricians
ImagineSolar designed a NABCEP accredited program for electricians to achieve NABCEP PV Installation Professional certification. ImagineSolar proctored the installations of PV systems at our training facility until the NABCEP certification process changed. We still offer a similar route to NABCEP experience credits through our PV330: Project Field Experience.
