"The workshop is very intensive and instructive. Considering the amount of material, it seemed like it was a two-week workshop. The book is very explanatory and I will continue to use it for further learning."  -Ernest Jackson

PV201eLab is an 8 hour (one day) hands-on lab where you have the opportunity to work with various solar PV modules and equipment in our state-of-the-art Solar Field Lab.

This workshop is a great tactile addition to our online PV201e course.

Learning Objectives
This hands-on lab gives you the opportunity to work with cutting-edge solar equipment and “Learn by Doing”.

Hands-on labs include:

  • Running tests and experiments with various solar modules wired in series, parallel, and connected to batteries and loads
  • Properly flashing penetrations on an asphalt shingle roof
  • Safety equipment lab: job site, personal protection equipment, fall protection, electrical, and photovoltaic DC systems
  • Installing, commissioning, and troubleshooting a grid-tied solar PV system

Prerequisite
It is recommended (but not required) to take our PV201e online course or an equivalent introductory PV course before taking PV201eLab.  You may take PV201e and PV201eLab in either order.

Price includes the following:

  • 8 hours of hands-on labs
  • Supplemental Material and Workbook compiled by ImagineSolar
  • CD-ROM of solar resource material

The Solar PV Module Hands-On Lab gives you the opportunity to work with various PV Modules and wire them in series and in parallel, connect them to batteries and loads, and measure current and voltage under different circumstances.

The Installation Lab gives you the opportunity to fully install and commission a grid-tied 640W PV system on a mock rooftop, utilizing 80W modules, solar mount rails and a centralized inverter.
