Thank you to everyone who joined us for Solar First Saturday on June 6th.  Your eagerness to understand policy developments for the solar industry in Texas after this year’s session was impressive.  Presenting a recap of proposed bills for the 2009 Texas Legislative session was our very own Richard Stovall.   Guest speakers Luke Metzger with Environment Texas and Tim Harvey with Austin Energy were also a part of our seminar.  Tim reviewed the Austin Energy rebate program and not only spoke about the details of the program, but also presented completed projects; Luke provided detailed insight to this year’s legislative session and relayed his first-hand accounts of session happenings as related to bills pertaining to solar.  All did such a great job!  A big THANK YOU to each!  We hope there will be more to explore once the special session convenes.

This week is busy at the ImagineSolar office as we prepare for next week’s workshop.  Scheduled to begin Monday the 22nd, we look forward to meeting our new group of students.  I can’t wait to hear their stories and learn what has motivated them to take next steps towards a career in solar.  As always we are thrilled about our local students, and about students traveling to Austin from across the nation….we even have our first international student joining us.  Next week is set to be full of information, learning, and enthusiasm.
